Dear Parents,

Happy to announce that registrations for the Armenian credit course Level 1 and Level 2, sponsored by TDSB at St. Sahag & St. Mesrob Armenian Saturday School, Forest Manor Public School, will begin on October 2, 2019 and close on October 22, 2019. Registration is done through eReg at www.creditprograms.ca

Classes run 3.5 hours a week on Saturdays from October 26 to June 13, 2020, depending on sufficient enrollment numbers. Minimums of 25 students are needed to run a course.

Offering two high school credit courses this year is a huge leap forward for our school, which by the way has entered its 64th school-year with over 330 students enrolled in the Kindergarten to Grade 8 program.

Here are answers to a few questions you may have.

Program: International Languages, Armenian Level 1 Academic LYRBD1 and Armenian Level 2 Academic LYRCU1. The program will include structured activities in the Armenian Language that develop students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will explore Armenian literature and art, as well as the history of Diaspora and its contemporary issues. Lessons will be modified based on the interests and the learning needs of students.

Language of instruction: Eastern and Western Armenian (the language of Diaspora).

Teaching styles: Interactive, collaborative, emergent, and project-based.

Instructors: Ontario certified teacher.

Program run date: Saturdays, beginning on October 26, 2019 and ending on June 13, 2020

Time: 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Location: Forest Manor Public School, 25 Forest Manor Road, Toronto, ON, M2J 1M4

Fees: None

Who can register: High school students who are currently in Grade 9, 10, 11, or 12 at any school board in Ontario (The Level 1 course is a prerequisite for the Level 2 course).

*** Please note that registration is pending approval on the submission of the Parent/Guardian Consent Form, which is emailed to you automatically when you have signed up for the course. Parents ensure to sign the form, have the bottom portion of the form completed and signed by the student’s guidance councilor and then upload the document onto the student’s profile under “My Profile”. Only then the enrollment is successful and approved.
